Tiana's project....

Does a photo a day project mean I have to post a photo every.single.day???? Well, if that's the case I have failed already!! So maybe instead I should call this project "Tiana's last year before School post a photo whenever I can find the motivation and time to post a photo project" hmmmmm...great title I think!!!!

Anyway on to the photos....

Day 2 - 08.03.12.
Tiana has news every Friday at preschool. This Friday she decided she wanted to take in some photo's of her new house for news. So, I let her take me around the house and was completely guided by her. We didn't really get any of the house itself, and she decided she preferred to pose in front of the camera instead! Here's some of the photos she took in for news....(there was a lot more, the poor teachers were probably falling asleep by the time she got to "and here's one of a leaf, and here's one of an ant, oh and this one is of our grass.....zzzzzzzz"

Day 3 - 10.03.12 -
Took the kids out to our local pub/bistro for dinner. There's a huge indoor kids area, and we get a bit of time off while the kids run off and play in the playground. Quickly grabbed these shots before we left home, as she looked so grown up.....stop growing so fast my baby princess xx

Twas the season to be jolly!!!

Ooops, so I hadn't touched my camera in months until yesterday, and when I was downloading my card, came across these few images I had taken over Christmas, gosh seems so long ago now.... (haha, had forgotten all about the reindeer cup cakes I had made, thanks pinterest for the inspiration)

It's been a long time....

Oh my, it's been a long time between blog posts. In fact it's been a long time since I've even gone anywhere near my 'big' camera. Well that's all about to change! I will be launching my long awaited business blog/website real, real soon....eek. Anyway, in the meantime, this blog will become my personal blog, a blog where I can further experiment with my photography and document my family life and anything else for that matter.

My daughter Tiana is starting school next year. This will be her last year at home with me. I have been a mum for the last 10 years, and apart from a bit of part time work here and there during that time, it's pretty much all I've known since my son Jaidyn was born. I've been there for my kids day and night, week after week, year after year. How those years have passed, where have they gone? My second and last child, my baby, will be stepping out into the 'real world', away from my protective arms. And although she will still be a kid, as I've found with Jaidyn, something changes within them, pretty much the day they first step into the school grounds. I will no longer be the most important person in her life. I don't know how I am going to be able to cope with that, not having her following me around for most of the day, drawing with her, imagining with her and basically sharing all the special moments with her. I may embrace the change or perhaps I will be lost? I'm hoping to throw myself into my photography and start a new chapter in my life and my families life.

In the meantime however I've decided to start a sort of project a day 'project' based around Tiana and her last year at home before school.

Here is day 1 - 6th March 2011.

Today was dance day. Tiana loves dancing, she is such a shy, almost painfully shy girl, but she truly becomes herself at dance, and I think it's something that she will continue to love for many years to come. After dance today, I took Tiana for her very first 'mani and pedi'. You should have seen the look on her face, she thought she was so grown up!!

So this is Christmas...... (Childrens photographer Hills District)

and I can't believe that it us upon us once again. Each year I watch my children grow a little bit older and hope that the wonder and amazement of this magical time of year will last with them bit longer. So as I sit here and wait for my little ones to give in to their sleepiness so that Santa can deliver some magic to them again I just wanted to wish you and your family a wonderful Christmas. May you be filled with wonder, be touched by peace and believe in miracles.

Another workshop.... (Sydney newborn photographer)

Back in September I took part in a newborn photography workshop run by Lana Bell from Little Posers Photography. Lana was such an inspiration and so willing to share her wealth of knowledge with us all. I have finally gotten around to posting some of the images I captured of the beautiful twin newborns that modelled for us. Such a wonderful learning experience.
